It Keeps Coming Back for a Reason

Repetitive Strain Injury Treatment in Kansas City

You’ve tried to work around it. Adjust your position. Push through. Maybe even rest it for a few days. But once you’re back to your normal routine, it shows up again. Living in that cycle of pain can be frustrating, and it usually means there’s more going on than just overuse. A repetitive strain injury treatment plan at F.I.T. can address:

  • Wrist and hand pain
  • Forearm tightness or irritation
  • Elbow pain from repeated use
  • Shoulder tension and overuse
  • Neck pain tied to posture
  • Numbness, tingling, or grip weakness

Benefits of F.I.T.’s Care

Stop the Repeat Flare-Ups

Pain that keeps returning usually points to something unresolved. Our care focuses on calming irritation while addressing what’s driving the pattern, helping reduce or eliminate those triggers.

Understand What’s Causing Pain

Repetitive strain often builds from how your body handles movement, not just how often you’re doing it. Getting clarity on the cause changes how you approach both work and recovery.

Build a Better Pattern

Lasting change comes from how your body moves and handles the demands of work or repetitive motions over time. Treatment supports stronger, more controlled movement that holds up through daily tasks and repeated use.

I wish I could give F.I.T. more than 5 stars! From the moment I walked into their office, I felt supported and heard. They took time to listen to my experiences, and then thoroughly evaluated me before being spot-on with a diagnosis - which was confirmed by an MRI. My therapist is gentle, yet incredibly firm with her manipulations and exercises. She is compassionate and supportive with me as I work to build strength and flexibility in my back and hip. I cannot say enough about how professional, kind, and personable everyone is at F.I.T.!!

Jim and the staff are awesome! I’m a baseball coach and was having some back issues due to throwing about 1000 batting practice pitches a week. Back is definitely better and Jim was the first Chiropractor that I’ve met that actually understands the biomechanics of throwing so his training is way above average!

For months, whenever I'd exercise I'd have frustrating knee pain that was causing me to never finish a workout. I was impressed with how Dr. Allison really took the time to understand my symptoms and put me on a plan to recovery. After our first appointment, not only was I relieved that I had someone dedicated to my recovery, but I noticed considerable results after that first session. Within a few weeks I was back to my regular amounts of exercise. What was of particular value to me was not only did my pain get resolved, but I had the knowledge and specific exercises to keep the injury from returning.

F.I.T. Is absolutely wonderful I have been working with Josh Greenwell mostly and Alex Scavuzzo a couple of times. They are both very knowledgeable in what they do. Josh was able to help me with a lower back problem that 2 other chiropractors were not able to. I highly recommend either one of them.

F.I.T. is the best Chiro/PT clinic in the KC metro. You can tell that they really care about you as a patient and they actually want you to get better! Working from home and doing a whole lot of nothing has taken a toll on my old bones. Dr Aaron Holman is very knowledgeable and always helps with whatever aches and pains that arise.

I had put off months of lingering right elbow and lower back pain, I decided to visit the clinic after my fall season sports had come to an end. Due to my ailments, the clinic paired me up with Joe and he’s been nothing short of godsend. I was diagnosed with tendinitis in my elbow stemming from the sports I participate in, in addition to the 5-6 days of exercise I take in weekly. With Joe’s help, I have regained my flexibility and mobility through specific stretches, dry needling and exercises. I now see him twice a week to continue my therapy. Plus I use Normatec leg sleeves after my sessions to relieve the tension in my legs. Can’t recommend Joe enough!

How We Care for You

Active Release Technique (ART)

Active Release Technique is hands-on and specific. Your provider works through the exact areas where tissue has become tight, restricted, or overworked from repeated use. By pairing movement with pressure, ART can help restore mobility and improve how muscles and surrounding structures handle daily demands.

Dry Needling

Your provider may use dry needling to reduce tension in overactive or irritated muscles that develop from repetitive strain. As part of repetitive strain injury treatment in Kansas City, it targets trigger points directly to help reset how the muscle behaves and decrease sensitivity.

Rehabilitation & Movement Training

Rehab at F.I.T. focuses on how your body moves under real-life demands. You’ll work through targeted exercises that build strength, improve control, and support better movement patterns. The goal is to help your body handle repeated tasks more efficiently so the same strain doesn’t keep coming back.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should I stop working or working out?

Not in most cases. Completely stepping away usually isn’t the answer. It’s more about changing how your body handles the demand. That might mean small adjustments, not a full stop. The goal is to keep you moving while the pattern that’s causing the issue gets addressed.

Can this improve without surgery or medication?

It can, depending on what’s going on. A lot of repetitive strain issues come down to how your body is moving and handling stress over time. With repetitive strain injury treatment in Kansas City, care focuses on that side of things first before we consider anything more invasive.

Do I need referral?

Not right away in most situations. Starting with an evaluation usually gives a clearer picture of what’s happening and what direction makes sense. Our repetitive strain injury treatment in Kansas City begins there, then we’ll decide if imaging or a referral would actually be helpful.
