Treatment Options
Treatment for running and sports injuries centers on honing in on the cause of the injury, not just the symptoms you are experiencing. While treatment revolves around reducing your pain and returning you to your sport, we must address the underlying problem for effective rehabilitation. With soft tissue therapy, rehabilitation exercises and flexibility training, physical therapy can often get you quickly back to your sport with no consulting with multiple different doctors for an answer and a “quick fix” intervention.
Our Treatment Process
F.I.T. Muscle & Joint Clinic uses soft tissue therapies such as A.R.T., instrument assisted soft tissue therapy, dry needling and joint mobilizations to improve overall range of motion and tissue resistance for optimal movement.
The chiropractors & physical therapists at F.I.T. Muscle & Joint Clinic will work with you to expose where your specific dysfunctions are occurring that are causing your painful symptoms and incorporate sport-specific exercises and drills to address the problem. We want to keep you off the sidelines, so we will do everything we can in the office to help our runners keep going before or after an injury.

Learn MoreFrequently Asked Questions
What are the most common running injuries?
The most common injuries we see in runners are usually low back pain, hip pain, knee pain, foot/ankle pain, plantar fasciitis, shin splints, ITB syndrome, medial tibial stress syndrome, stress fractures, and muscle strains.
I get shin splints. Can a chiropractor help with that?
Yes, the chiropractors at F.I.T. Muscle & Joint Clinic can help. We would typically apply soft tissue therapies to help reduce inflammation and tightness and advise on activity modification while providing rehabilitative exercises. We will address any biomechanical issues in the lower extremity with adjustments.
Can you teach my children how to prevent sports injuries?
Most non-contact sports injuries develop from poor training habits, poor movement patterns, or a combination of the two. We use functional movement pattern screening for all our young athletes and try to expose any potential large risks for non-contact injuries. We educate the athlete on the risks and given a rehabilitation program designed to improve function and reduce the deviations from normal. We will discuss and address training habits if this is a concern.
